CEW-MR-2-SDLG7789Country Folks was invited to visit the manufacturing plant of SDLG, a Chinese manufacturer of wheeloaders and excavators. SDLG is 70 percent owned by Volvo Construction Equipment and is overseen by Volvo’s Benoit Rimas. We were impressed by the manufacturing methods, fit and finish of the machines and the factory conditions.
The two models SDLG is marketing in the U.S.: The LG938L – a 2.4 yd3 (1.8 m3) loader with a rated load of 3 U.S. tons, and the LG959 – a 4 yd3 (3.1 m3) loader with a rated load of 5 U.S. tons. Each is powered by a Deutz engine and utilize ZF transmissions. Both machines will be available for sale at all of the dealer locations.
Alan Quinn, Director SDLG North America, states “This is a top-notch group of dealers who really know the business,” he said. “SDLG will be supported by companies that have been selling and servicing construction equipment for decades. They are the backbone of SDLG’s rollout into North America and we couldn’t be more confident in these dealers’ ability to serve the market.”
Locally, SDLG will be handled by Vantage Equipment of Syracuse, NY. This construction equipment provider was established in 2004 to serve upstate New York. The company also supplies the paving, material handling, drilling and sewage markets, among others. They also have locations in Latham and Batavia, NY.
