PURCELLVILLE, VA — Moutoux Orchard has undergone a lot of change in the last decade. In 2005, the orchard pulled up stakes from its original location near Tysons Corner, moving its operation, barn and all, to what had previously been a companion orchard here in Loudon County. Adam Holter, sixth generation farmer on Holterholm Farm in partnership with his father Ron, says the farm was purchased 1889 in a bankruptcy sale. The land hadn’t been well cared for, so the Holters started the process of rejuvenating the property. [Read more…]

During last month’s show the Keith’s ran 425 teams total in team penning and sorting. People from Canada, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maine, Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee attended.
There was nearly $5,000 of added money in the classes and a saddle was given away to the high-money earning novice rider of the weekend. [Read more…]
